The BP Archive documents the
history and worldwide activities of BP, its global business centre and
business streams, as well as its predecessors (the Anglo-Persian Oil Company
and the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company) and subsidiaries.
It covers local, national and international history, and subjects include every aspect of
life touched by the oil industry: political, cultural and social affairs;
international disputes and warfare; changing topographies; industrial
relations; economics and business issues; transport, particularly road, rail
and ocean tankers; technological developments; and advertising and livery.
The BP Archive is operated by BP plc at the
University of Warwick. Researchers are welcome to submit enquiries regarding
the Company's diverse operations, from its early beginnings in Persia to the
present day or to arrange a visit to the purpose built search-room by prior
appointment.
