Coventry is the birthplace of the British cycle and
motor industry, and the Coventry Transport Museum displays the world’s
largest collection of British road transport, including 240 cars, commercial
vehicles and buses, 100 motorcycles, over 200 cycles and around a million
archive and ephemera items.
The Museum is designated by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport as a collection of national importance and are the only transport museum in
the world dedicated to displaying the products of a city and focused on the
skills, expertise and innovation of its people.
I n 2007, the Museum received accreditation by the Museum, Libraries and
Archives Council (MLA), confirmation of having achieved the highest quality
standards in all aspects of its work.
